Researchers

Propose a Topic

We have assembled a unique team that is at the forefront of research on specialized aspects of sustainability.

The co-applicants and the collaborators supervise program trainees completing a research thesis can join this team. Projects must involve elements of the three sustainability pillars, and the supervisory committee must include experts in the core disciplines.

Rights and Responsibilities

As an SBSP Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF), you have access to the resources and benefits of the program. These include the expertise and academic activities of the program researchers and collaborators, stipend funding (through your supervisor), a workspace in the CIRS building if required and available, and most importantly, access to the sustainable-building-science community that is evolving at UBC and in the surrounding professional community.

However, you also accept certain responsibilities. As a PDF in your home department, you must satisfy its requirements. In addition, you may take the SBSP Topics and Project courses; we expect you to attend the SBSP Seminar series and other SBSP events. You may be asked to present a seminar on your research. You must submit a final report of your time as a PDF and inform us about funding you have received and conference and journal papers that you have published. Most importantly, we expect you to contribute to the sustainable building-science community and to help the SBSP to evolve.
